A Letter for Chellis Glendinning

Thank you very much for your response.
There has been something I wished I could share with you and finally, here is my attempt.
It may be one of the many invisible bridges in order to gap the difference between the East and the West.

First I would like to introduce to you the Chinese thinker, Ko Ransei in the Japanese pronunciation and Fu Rantse in the Chinese- and some of his philosophy.
There is an article that has been translated with many sections exclusively explaining his thoughts. So those issues I will not deal here.
But one factor that needs to be repeated and emphasized here is the fact that Nature and universe has a will of its own. It moves and proceeds with its very own intent.
�@The initial beginning of what could be called a civilization was started exclusively by women. It is female oriented�B
Civilization can not be created by extending the hunting principles.
Hunting principles are contrary to the principles of a genuine civilization.
The Western civilization is constructed from the principles of the hunting world.
That is what we have today and that is what is destroying the whole planet and possibly this galaxy.
The principle actors of the hunting world have been men.
Basically same as today.
During the so called hunting-gathering period, it has been said that the men did the hunting and the women did the gathering.
By concentrating on the gathering they became observers of Nature and paid attention to the seasons and the structure/pattern of their environment.
They learnt to plant seeds.
They learnt to transplant seedlings and to cultivate them.
They discovered agriculture.
Through this process they had to observe the sky and the seasons, and by doing so they discovered astronomy and mathematics.

This led to the concept of spirals and circles, which by extension would enable them to construct and utilize the wheel.
By being and active observer of Nature, they heard the variations in the sound of the wind; they noticed the bird calls- the songs of the insects, animals sounds; in short all the nuances and variations that the environmental nature surrounded them...
This led to the creation of music.
And this in turn would evoke the desire and awareness of and for beauty and harmony.
Hence the house transformed itself from a shelter to my/our�ghome�h.
By having a basis called �ghome�h, family became born and by extension other filial relationships. This in turn would extend further to the creation of society.
All the elements above are the basis of a civilization.

Civilization in essence, is the result of observing and comprehending the constructive energy of the universe with its multi -manifestation and being able to recognize the principles of its creative energy and thus being able to apply/utilize/recreate with it.
I would also like to touch upon this unrecognized Japanese genius, TSUTOMU SAKAMOTO ( a scientist/physicist by profession, and the initial founder of the Japanese Green Party 1926-1984).
I am not going to go in to details here about his philosophy but this is how he has boiled this concept down.
The acknowledgement of the creative universal energy=the science of the minus.
The belief towards this energy=the religion of the minus.
When these two elements combine, then is civilization born as in the procedure stated above.
Our ancestors noticed two different types of energy in Nature.
They are the energy of creation and the energy of destruction.
Stone Age period gave rise to the fortification of the destructive energy by constructing weapons. Each refinement in the art of weaponry enabled the hunters to apply and possess more power for this destructive energy.
This leads in essence, towards the concept that �gMight is Right�h.
Might, being of course the power of this destructive energy in action.
The bigger the power, better- to the point that whoever possesses this power is the one on and of the side of the Justice.
The very one of justice;
-which in essence, despite the rhetoric, is the behaviour of the West.
And on this basis no civilization can be created.

By extension and also simultaneously, the process of so-called domestication (for it sounds so benign, almost piteous as if by offering a �gdomus/domesticus�h, one was also offering a genuine and a wanted home...) is another face of the fortification of the destructive energy.
For one can not �gdomesticate�h a wild animal without breaking its spirit, its soul and independence.
While I agree and can see the possibility that some animals willingly and voluntarily came to bond and even aid humans, the overall system as utilized has been used more for their destruction as well as towards and of others.
It has been said that by the time that the descendents of Cro-Magnon evolved into the New Stone Age, dogs have been domesticated.
Most of them descended from the wolves and thus were without doubt competent and fabulous hunters themselves.
The humans -they managed to separate a part of a group and trained them (evolved them, educated them, rewarded them, cultivated the treacherous aspect in them�cI don�ft know). But at any rate, the end result was creatures called dogs, that worked for the human advantage to the point of helping them in the destruction of their own relatives.
I see the origin of the �gdivide et impera�h technique, so necessary for conquest
and colonization here.

At any rate many of these women-initiated civilizations did not survive, except basically one, that of China and by extension or similitude that of the Japanese culture. Of this I will explain further in a little while.
They did not survive once the hunters, hunting mentality=domestication-oriented humans, barbarians, non-civilized and ruthless attackers appeared on the horizon.
The destroyers came mostly from the West and probably by then on horsebacks. They came to pillage the harvest. Once this phenomenum occurred, the internal structure of the female civilization had to change in order to survive and withhold against these attacks.
For a civilization to survive and defend against these assaults, a concept and structure like �gnationhood�h �ghomeland�h �gpolitical identity�h became indispensable.
For such a structure to function properly, theorization becomes necessary.
This is where the male contribution is both adapt and required for further flourishing.
To create a theoretical structure towards the culture that had been created by the feminine.
The only civilization that accomplished this tremendous feat, is China.
�gI Ching�h or the so-called Book of Change is the male contribution and the guarantee that the civilization can survive and flourish as it has a concrete and tactile reminder to what would otherwise be written in sand to be washed away by the tide of time.
Chinese civilization has been beaten to dust, through internal strife, Westernization-colonization, and Communism.
But it hasn�ft been completely destroyed and may re-flourish again precisely because of this accomplishment.
Currently as of date, over six million Chinese have officially left the Communist party. Despite over sixty years of pounding the past history into dust and party propaganda, communism may be toppled.

Japan managed to create its own female-oriented civilization with its discoveries simultaneously with the Chinese one and independent of it.
But it is dying and it may perish.
For the male contribution is lacking here.
Japanese culture survived intact despite the alien influences, precisely because it borrowed its theorization system first from China, then from the West. And it may perish precisely because of that borrowing which hindered the development of its original unifying philosophy
There is no uniquely and independent theorization constructed by �ga�h or �gthe�h Japanese to unify and systemize its own culture.
At one point it was on the verge of doing so, but then came the Chinese influence, and through that of Buddhism. It was almost on the edge of being completely engulfed by the Chinese civilization but once again women absorbed the Chinese influence, digested it and contributed those elements into their own uniqueness and thus aided towards further flourish.
Then came Christianity and Western factors but once again through isolationism, and the female contributions, gave rise to their own brand of culture. And once again, whether for lack of time, desire, or capability, there is no real Japanese theory to back up what had been accomplished.

Hence becomes easily engulfed, destroyed and forgotten without any key for remembrance.
Buildings, artifacts and other archeological relics may survive but it is dead without the philosophy behind them.
That is the dilemma facing the Japanese civilization, which is on the point of disappearing by the Westernization process at an alarmingly accelerating pace, precisely because the theory of it is non-existent.
So in spite of an unique culture, very capable of living in genuine harmony and balance with Nature, over a thousand years of a decree forbidding the domestication of wild life and hence the consumption of four-legged animals, a period of two hundred fifty years without war, without colonization, without the rate of violence and criminality that is currently plaguing mankind, may disappear or at least is dissipating�Awithout having had the opportunity to �gshow and tell�h the West that there is or at least was an alternative way, here on Earth simultaneously.
